embroidery

I did my first embroidery lesson with Craft Daisies. It's great, I pretty much already have everything for it.

I've been cross stitching since I was in the first or second grade. I learned in Brownies. The last project I made was my friend Melissa's wedding present. So I figured that embrodery wouldn't be too hard right? Not as easy as I thought, I like the exact location of where the stitch starts and ends with cross stitch. It's hard to get location and length of each stitch.

But I am trying. Here is my first attempt and homework all on one piece of fabric. I think I'm going to go out and purchase some muslin this week and try again, it might make the whole process much easier.
No I didn't finish my circle, but I will later on, and no I didn't make the shapes as big as the ones I drew, I have a feeling this is going to be an issue with me. I have a tendency to draw things one way and then change them as I go. I think that's kinda wrong.
But since I started this, I really want to get back to what I was working on before I started Melissa's present. I think I will. It's a Christmas decoration for the house. It's from Mary Engelbreit Cross-Stitch. I'm kinda getting excited to finish it. Oh, so much to do and so little time to accompish it. I need to quit my job and just craft!

  1. Uh,uh. You've been practice in the embroidery homework! I didn't get to do that. You've got a problem with the draw, and i have a problem with starting new jobs. If i was an arquitector, i think i would start a house from the top, and then go down, i'm always looking for something difficult, when i'm starting to learn something. Weird hey?

  2. And i forget, your box is very well organized! I've got one exactly like that, maybe it is because we make cross stitch. And i had a look at the cross stitch that you're making, and it is charming :)
